Ministry Bio of Rev. Brent A. Brown

Born to Tyrone Mills and Lisa Brown in Baltimore, MD, Brent Andre Brown was saved at the age of 9, at the Sweet Hope Freewill Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Chilean McCoy Smith Sr. At the age of 18, Rev. Brown received the call to the preaching ministry. In 2011, he acknowledged and accepted his call and began studying under the tutelage of his former Pastor, the late Bishop Marilyn E. Bostic, Establishmentarian of the Jesus of Nazareth Free Will Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD. After Bishop Bostic's transition from labor to rest, Rev. Brown furthered his preparation under the tutelage of Pastor Charles A. Hall, Jr. On Saturday, November 23rd, 2013, Rev. Brown preached his initial sermon, "When Faith Fights Reality."

Serving and walking closely with his mentor and predecessor, the late Rev. Errol D. Gilliard, Sr., equipped Rev. Brown for ministry at Greater Harvest and beyond. Rev. Brown was appointed as the Executive Pastor of Greater Harvest Baptist Church in early 2016, faithfully serving in that capacity until he was officially elected to serve as the fifth Senior Pastor of the Greater Harvest Baptist Church in November of 2016.

Under Rev. Brown’s leadership, Greater Harvest continues to experience exponential growth both spiritually and numerically. Rev. Brown takes no personal credit for the many accomplishments he and The Greater Harvest Family have achieved together but gives God all the glory.

Firmly believing in 2 Timothy 2:15, Rev. Brown has invested time matriculating at Hampton University, Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, and is an avid attendee of conferences, clinics, and forums that will enrich his knowledge in sharing The Gospel and leading the loving disciples of Greater Harvest.

Rev. Brown is honored to serve as 3rd Vice-President of The Ministers Conference of Baltimore and Vicinity (formerly known as The Baptist Ministers Conference), is a proud member of KACP (Kingdom Association of Covenant Pastors), BUILD (Baltimoreans United In Leadership Development), is an Advisory Board Member of Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, and consistently participates in endeavors that will uplift the wellbeing of our community.

Rev. Brown is also an anointed musician who has played for numerous churches, organizations, and conferences throughout the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan Area. Rev. Brown is the loving, devoted husband of Mrs. Shamyra Kiona Brown, and the proud, devoted father of Miss Essence Imani Brown and Miss Bella Amia Brown. Rev. Brown gives God all the glory and honor for choosing him to stand and preach the undying riches of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He firmly believes that “If Jesus be lifted up, Jesus will draw all men unto Him.”
